What is Hospice?
Hospice Care is a true partnership between the physician, patient, caregivers, and the staff of EGAN Hospice. Our dedicated staff provides personal care, assistance, comfort, and compassion at a time when the patient and their family need it. We understand this stage in life presents its own set of challenges. It’s our goal to assist with those challenges and to provide comfort and peace, manage pain and symptoms, and allow the time they have together to be all it can possibly be. As soon as you’ve made the decision to refer your patient to a hospice care provider, please call EGAN. We’ll gladly schedule a time to sit down with your patient to discuss how we can best assist them. It’s a journey…
The decision to receive hospice care is typically a pro-cess that takes time. EGAN Home Health patients can transition into hospice care at their own pace with our AIM Transition Program. When appropriate and while patients remain in Home Health, EGAN AIM Nurses can progressively introduce patients and their families to hospice care.
EGAN Home Health patients transitioning into hospice may be able to keep the Nurses they have become familiar and comfortable with.
EGAN Hospice has selected medical equipment and pharmacy providers who work exclusively with patients in hospice care to ensure their specific needs are addressed without delay.
EGAN Healthcare is locally owned and operated. The company has served Southeast Louisiana with pride since 1988.
